Our take on the Americh Wright 7234 Bathtub

The Americh Wright 7234 is a drop-in acrylic bathtub with built-in whirlpool jets. Acrylic keeps the tub light and warm to the touch, and the drop-in format fits a standard deck or surround. At $2,122.50 at Plumbing Overstock as of November 6, 2026, it sits at the low end of its recent range, with only two stores listing it new.

Pros
  • Drop-in install is simpler than a tile-in or undermount tub
  • Acrylic holds water heat better than cast iron or enameled steel
  • Built-in jets add whirlpool soaking
  • Light shell is easier to move and set than a cast tub
  • Current price is at the low end of its recent range
Cons
  • Acrylic can scratch and dull without careful cleaning
  • Jetted tubs need the pump and plumbing serviced over time
  • Few stores carry it, so price and stock options are limited
  • Jet plumbing adds installation work versus a plain soaking tub

Questions and answers

Is the Americh Wright 7234 a jetted tub?
Yes. It is a drop-in acrylic tub with built-in whirlpool jets, so it needs power and plumbing access for the pump.
What does the Wright 7234 cost?
The best new price is $2,122.50 at Plumbing Overstock as of November 6, 2026. Two stores list it new, so compare both before buying.
Drop-in or undermount?
It is a drop-in tub. It sits in a deck or surround cutout rather than under the floor finish, which makes installation and later access easier.
Is acrylic a good tub material?
Acrylic is light, warm to the touch and holds heat well. It scratches more easily than cast iron, so avoid abrasive cleaners.
What should I check before ordering?
Confirm the rough-in dimensions, the deck cutout size and that the pump location fits your plumbing. Jetted tubs also need a dedicated power source.
