Our take on the Amped Wireless ALLY Plus Whole Home Smart Wi-Fi System

The Amped Wireless ALLY Plus is a dual-band 802.11ac mesh kit: an ALLY router plus an ALLY range extender that share one network name and are set up through a phone app. It has internal antennas, a USB 3.0 port and Ethernet ports, and ships with power adapters and an RJ-45 cable. It is an older AC-class system, not Wi-Fi 6. At $34.99 at eBay as of November 5, 2026, it is priced far below what mesh kits usually cost, which fits its age and its limited feature set.

Cons

Questions and answers

Is the ALLY Plus worth buying at $34.99?
At $34.99 at eBay as of November 5, 2026, it is a cheap way to get a two-unit mesh network. Expect AC-class speeds and older firmware, not modern Wi-Fi 6 performance.
How much area does the router plus extender cover?
Amped markets it for large homes, but with two AC units real coverage is typically a single floor or a small multi-floor home. Thick walls and long distances will cut it down.
Does it support Wi-Fi 6?
No. It is dual-band 802.11ac (Wi-Fi 5) only, with no 6 GHz band and no Wi-Fi 6 features.
What is in the box?
The ALLY router, the ALLY range extender, power adapters, an RJ-45 Ethernet cable and a setup guide. The Ally app is a free download.
Can I add more units to the mesh?
The kit is built around one router and one extender. Adding more ALLY units is not a standard, well-documented path, so plan on the two included units.
When is it cheapest?
This is a discontinued-era product, so pricing is set by remaining stock and resellers. The $34.99 eBay price as of November 5, 2026 is already near clearance level.
Where is the Amped Wireless ALLY Plus Whole Home Smart Wi-Fi System cheapest?
