Is 20W enough to cut 20 mm wood?
Expect clean cuts in softwood around 5 to 10 mm in one pass. Reaching 20 mm takes several passes at slow speed and depends on the wood. Treat 20 mm as a best-case figure, not a routine cut.
Do I need an enclosure and goggles?
Yes. This is an open-frame diode laser, so wear the supplied or rated laser glasses and vent smoke outdoors or through a filter. An enclosure also keeps pets and children away from the beam.
What can it engrave besides wood?
