Is the M2 iPad Air worth it over the older M1 Air?

Yes if you want more performance headroom and the newer accessories support. If you mostly browse and stream, an M1 Air or base iPad still does the job for less.

How does it compare with the iPad Pro?

The Air gives you the M2 chip and most of the same apps at a lower price. The Pro adds a 120 Hz OLED screen, Face ID and a thinner body.

Do I need the cellular version?

Only if you often work away from Wi-Fi. The Wi-Fi model is cheaper, and you can tether from a phone instead of paying for a data plan.

For browsing, streaming and notes, yes. If you store lots of photos, games or offline video, step up to 256 GB or use cloud storage.

What comes in the box?

The iPad, a USB-C charging cable and a power adapter. The Apple Pencil and Magic Keyboard are sold separately.

Discounts tend to appear around back-to-school and major sales events. Check the price history before buying, since cellular models drop less often than Wi-Fi ones.

Our take on the Apple iPad Air 11-inch (M2) Wi-Fi + Cellular

The iPad Air 11-inch (M2) is Apple's mid-range tablet, now with the M2 chip, 128 GB of storage and 5G cellular in a 16.2 oz body. It has an 11-inch 2360 x 1640 display, 12 MP cameras front and rear, and runs iPadOS. It sits between the base iPad and the iPad Pro, and the cellular version costs more than the Wi-Fi model.
