Our take on the Apple iPad Air 3rd Generation 256GB Wi-Fi + Cellular Space Gray

The iPad Air 3rd Generation is Apple's 2019 10.5-inch tablet, with a laminated True Tone display, an A12 Bionic chip, Apple Pencil (1st generation) support and a Smart Connector for keyboards. This listing is the 256GB Wi-Fi + Cellular model in Space Gray, the top storage tier with mobile data. At $213.95 at KenDoTronics as of November 5, 2026, it is priced near the low end of what used 256GB cellular units have sold for, well under its $779 launch price. It is a used-era buy: fast enough for everyday work, but no longer sold new by Apple and outside current iPadOS updates.

Questions and answers

Is the iPad Air 3 still worth buying in 2026?
At around $214 it is a cheap way into an iPad with a good screen and Pencil support. Expect older software and plan to replace it sooner than a current model.
Does it support the Apple Pencil?
Yes, it works with the Apple Pencil (1st generation), which charges through the Lightning port. The newer USB-C Pencil does not work with it.
Is 256GB enough?
For most people, yes. It holds large photo libraries, offline video and games; 64GB is the tier that fills up fast.
Can I use it without a cellular plan?
Yes. The cellular model works on Wi-Fi alone, and you can add a data plan only when you need it.
What comes in the box?
A used listing typically includes the iPad and a charging cable or adapter, but confirm contents with the seller. The Pencil and keyboard are sold separately.
When is it cheapest?
Prices for this generation have been falling as software support ends. The $213.95 at KenDoTronics as of November 5, 2026 is already near the low end for 256GB cellular units.
