Is the iPhone 16e worth it over a used iPhone 15?

The 16e brings the A18 chip and Apple Intelligence, which the iPhone 15 lacks. If those matter to you, the 16e is the better long-term buy; a used 15 may cost less but has a shorter update runway.

Does the iPhone 16e have an ultrawide camera?

No. It has one 48MP rear camera that also offers a 2x telephoto crop. There is no ultrawide lens.

Apple ships the phone with a USB-C cable; there is no charger or earbuds in the box. The listing adds a 12-month warranty and unlocked status.

Can I use a physical SIM?

No. The 16e is eSIM only, so you activate through your carrier digitally.

How long will it get iOS updates?

Apple typically supports iPhones with roughly five to seven years of iOS updates. Expect the 16e to receive new iOS versions well into the 2030s.

When is the iPhone 16e cheapest?

Prices tend to dip around major sales events and after a successor launches. The $19.45 Walmart price as of November 8, 2026 is far below typical pricing, so confirm it is for this 256GB model before ordering.

Our take on the Apple iPhone 16e 5G 256GB

The iPhone 16e is Apple's most affordable entry into the iPhone 16 line: a 6.1-inch Super Retina XDR screen, the A18 chip with Apple Intelligence, and a single 48MP Fusion camera that also shoots 2x telephoto. It has Face ID, USB-C, 5G and Wi-Fi 6, and should get iOS updates for years. The best new price is $19.45 at Walmart as of November 8, 2026, with 3 stores listing it new — far below what this 256GB model normally sells for, so treat that figure as an outlier worth verifying before you buy.
