Our take on the Apple MacBook Pro 16-inch M3 Max 128GB 8TB Space Black with AppleCare+

The 16-inch MacBook Pro with the M3 Max is Apple's top laptop for heavy professional work: a 16-core CPU, 40-core GPU, 128GB of unified memory and an 8TB SSD in a 16.2-inch Liquid Retina XDR display. It runs up to 22 hours on battery and includes HDMI, MagSafe 3, an SDXC slot and Thunderbolt 4. This maxed configuration with AppleCare+ is priced at $5,199 at Macpro-la as of November 3, 2026, the only new price listed. That is far above the typical starting price of the 16-inch M3 Max line, which reflects the memory, storage and coverage rather than any discount.

Questions and answers

Is the 128GB and 8TB configuration worth it?
Only if your work needs more than 64GB of memory or local storage above 4TB, such as large 3D scenes, big video projects or many virtual machines. For most users a lower-spec M3 Max is far cheaper and nearly as fast.
How does the M3 Max compare with the M3 Pro?
The M3 Max has more CPU and GPU cores and supports far more memory, so it renders and exports noticeably faster. The M3 Pro is lighter on the wallet and fine for general editing and development.
What is the battery life?
Apple rates it at up to 22 hours, and it ships with a 140W USB-C power adapter. Heavy rendering or gaming will cut that figure substantially.
What comes in the box?
The laptop, a 140W USB-C power adapter and a USB-C to MagSafe 3 cable. AppleCare+ coverage is included with this listing.
When is the best time to buy?
MacBook Pro prices tend to drop around back-to-school season and when a new chip generation launches. Check the price history before buying, since this configuration is listed at one store only.
Where is the Apple MacBook Pro 16-inch M3 Max 128GB 8TB Space Black with AppleCare+ cheapest?
