Is the Arc'teryx Fissile worth $349.83?

At $349.83 at REI as of November 5, 2026, it is a premium price for a premium shell-and-insulation pant. The PFAS-free GORE-TEX ePE build and PrimaLoft Gold Active insulation justify it if you ski often in cold, wet conditions.

How does the Fissile compare with the Arc'teryx Sabre pant?

The Sabre is an uninsulated GORE-TEX shell, so it layers over your own baselayers. The Fissile has built-in PrimaLoft insulation for colder days and less layering.

Does the Fissile run small?

Yes, owners report it runs small, with a small fitting like an XS. Size up, especially if you wear thicker baselayers.

Is it good for a knee brace?

Owners say there is not enough room for a knee brace. The cut is slim through the leg, so brace wearers may need a looser pant.

What is the RECCO reflector for?

It is a passive reflector that rescue teams can detect with RECCO detectors in an avalanche burial. It is not a transceiver and does not replace one.

When is the Fissile cheapest?

Insulated ski pants usually discount at the end of the season, roughly February through April, and during pre-season sales in early fall. Track the price history before buying.
