Is the travertine top real stone?

Yes. The top is travertine, a natural stone, so each table has its own veining and color variation. Expect small pits and tone differences that are normal for the material.

Does it need to be sealed?

Travertine is porous, so sealing the top is wise, especially around drinks and food. Wipe spills quickly and avoid acidic cleaners like vinegar or lemon.

At 15.5 inches high it sits low, which pairs best with sofas whose seat height is around 17 to 18 inches. Check your seat height before buying.

How hard is assembly?

The oak base typically bolts together and the stone top sets on top, so assembly is straightforward but needs two people because of the stone's weight.

Is it worth the price?

If you want a real stone top and solid oak rather than veneer, it is a fair buy at its usual price. Wait for a sale or outlet listing if you are not in a hurry.

You get the travertine top, the oak frame components and the hardware needed for assembly. Tools are usually included, but confirm on the product page.

Our take on the Article Travertine Coffee Table

The Article Sporo coffee table is a solid travertine-topped oval table on an oak frame, sized 47.25 inches wide, 23.5 inches deep and 15.5 inches high. The stone top gives it real weight and a one-of-a-kind veined surface, while the oak base keeps the look warm and modern. It suits a low, lounge-style seating setup rather than tall sofas. It is a premium piece, so check the current Article price against its recent range before ordering.
