Is the 300Hz screen worth it?

Yes if you play fast shooters and can push high frame rates; the RTX 2070 handles 1080p well. For slower, story-driven games the high refresh rate matters less.

Can I upgrade the RAM and storage?

RAM is upgradeable to 32GB, so 16GB can be doubled later. The 512GB SSD can be swapped for a larger drive, which most owners will want for a games library.

How does it compare to newer ROG Strix G17 models?

Newer G17 versions move to newer Intel or AMD chips and RTX 30/40-series graphics, with more performance per watt. This model is a solid 1080p machine but on an older platform.

Is it too heavy to carry around?

At about 6 lb plus a large 17.3-inch body and power brick, it is best kept on a desk. It works for occasional travel, not daily commuting.

What is the battery life like?

Asus rates it at up to 6 hours, and gaming on the RTX 2070 drains it much faster. Expect to stay plugged in for serious play.
