Is the ASUS ROG Strix G18 worth $3,359?

That price buys the top configuration: Core Ultra 9, 64 GB RAM and a 4 TB SSD. It makes sense if you need the 18-inch screen and the memory and storage headroom; a 16-inch model with less RAM and storage costs less.

How does the G18 compare with a 16-inch gaming laptop?

The 18-inch 2560x1600 screen is the main difference: more screen area and a bigger chassis for cooling. The trade-off is size and weight, so it suits a desk more than a backpack.

Is 64 GB of RAM overkill for gaming?

For games alone, yes; 32 GB is plenty today. The 64 GB matters for video editing, 3D rendering, virtual machines and heavy multitasking alongside games.

A laptop, power adapter and paperwork. The listing does not mention a mouse or bag, so plan on buying those separately.

When is the best time to buy it?

New gaming laptops usually see discounts around Black Friday and back-to-school season. With only one new price listed as of November 7, 2026, watch for the first price drop before buying.

Our take on the ASUS ROG Strix G18 18" 64 GB 4 TB

The ROG Strix G18 is ASUS's 18-inch gaming laptop, here in a 2026 configuration with an Intel Core Ultra 9, 64 GB of DDR5 RAM and a 4 TB SSD. The 18-inch 2560x1600 display gives it a big screen for games and creative work, and the 64 GB/4 TB combo is aimed at people who run heavy multitasking or large local libraries. At $3,359 at Newegg as of November 7, 2026, it is the only new price listed, so there is no recent range to compare it against.
