Is this backlight good for a TV?

A 6-foot strip is a reasonable fit for a 40 to 55 inch TV. It is a plain LED strip, so expect a single fixed light color, not color-changing or app control.

Does it need a power adapter?

The listing does not state the power source. Check the packaging or ask At Home whether a plug or USB adapter is included before buying.

Can it be cut to length?

Cut points are not listed. If you need a shorter run, confirm on the package that the strip is cuttable, since many basic strips are not.

Is it safe in a bathroom or kitchen?

It is plastic with no water-resistance rating listed. Keep it in dry indoor spots and away from steam and splashes.

Is $14.99 a good price?

It is the only new price listed as of November 8, 2026, so there is nothing to compare it to. At under $15 for 6 feet, it is in line with basic non-smart LED strips.

Our take on the At Home Black Led Backlight 6' Plastic

This is a 6-foot black plastic LED backlight strip from At Home, sold as a single unit. It is a basic, low-cost strip meant for accent lighting behind a TV, shelf or cabinet rather than full room illumination.
