Is the Avapow A28 worth it?

At $51.99 at Walmart as of November 7, 2026, it is cheap for a 3000A-rated jump starter. Testing suggests it does not fully deliver on that rating, so treat it as a budget backup rather than a heavy-duty tool.

Will it start my car?

It is rated for 12V car batteries and universal fitment, so it suits most cars and light trucks. Cold weather and larger engines put more demand on it, and its tested output was below its claim.

It is sold as a five-piece kit that includes the jump starter, clamps and the 26-inch cable. Check the listing for the exact contents before ordering.

It measures about 3.9 x 7.8 x 1.5 inches, small enough to keep in a glovebox or trunk. The 3000 mAh battery keeps the weight down.
