Is the Avenco CozyNest 6-inch mattress worth it?

It is a reasonable pick for a guest room or kid's bed where the mattress gets light use. For nightly sleeping by adults, a thicker 8- to 10-inch mattress gives better support.

Avenco lists it as medium comfort with a pillow top. Expect a soft top over a bouncy Bonnell coil base, closer to medium-soft in practice.

Does it work on a bunk bed or trundle?

Yes. At 6 inches thick it fits most bunk beds, trundles and low platform frames. Check your frame's height limit first.

How much weight can it hold?

The listed max load is 1,000 lb. That covers most couples, but the thin profile still limits how much support heavier sleepers get.

Does it need a box spring?

It works on a box spring, slatted frame or platform bed. A solid base helps the thin coil layer last longer.

When is the best time to buy it?

Mattress prices drop around major holiday sales and during back-to-school season. Compare the current price with its recent range before buying.

Our take on the Avenco CozyNest 6" Queen Innerspring Mattress

The Avenco CozyNest is a 6-inch medium-firm innerspring queen mattress with a pillow top and Bonnell coil core. It is thin and light, so it suits guest rooms, kids' rooms, bunk beds and sleeper-sofa replacements rather than a primary bed. The 1,000 lb load rating is high for this class.
