Is the Sinch 2 worth it over a non-folding e-bike?

Only if folding matters to you. You pay a weight and ride-quality penalty for the hinge. If you have garage space and never load it into a car, a full-size commuter e-bike rides better for similar money.

How does the Sinch 2 compare to the original Sinch?

The Sinch 2 keeps the 20-inch folding format and 20 mph limit but is the newer generation with an updated frame and motor. Check the price history for both, since the original is often discounted.

Can I carry the Sinch 2 on a bus or train?

It folds, but at 68 lbs it is awkward to lift and stow. It suits a car trunk or RV bay better than a daily bus commute.

What is the range in real use?

Aventon rates it up to 55 miles. Expect less with a heavy rider, hills, throttle use or cold weather, and plan on roughly half that in demanding conditions.

Does it come with fenders and a rack?

Check the listing for the exact trim. Fenders and a rear rack are common on Sinch 2 builds but not guaranteed on every configuration.

When is the Sinch 2 cheapest?

Folding e-bikes tend to drop during spring sales and end-of-season clearance. Watch the price history and buy when it falls below its recent range.

Our take on the Aventon Sinch 2 Electric Bike

The Aventon Sinch 2 is a folding electric bike with a step-through aluminum frame, 20-inch tires and a 300 lb load rating. It tops out at 20 mph with up to 55 miles of range, and the fold makes it practical for cars, RVs and small apartments. At 68 lbs it is heavy to lift, and it uses mechanical disc brakes rather than hydraulic. No current price was provided, so check the price history before buying.
