The Method Seven Pilot Aviator Clip-On FLT18 brings aviation lens technology to prescription eyewear without requiring a separate pair of sunglasses. Designed specifically for pilots, these lightweight, nonpolarized clip-on sunglasses feature a classic aviator shape, secure spring-loaded attachment, and a convenient flip-up mechanism that allows you to adapt quickly to changing light conditions. Unlike fixed clip-on sunglasses, the flip-up design lets pilots lift the tinted lenses out of their field of view without removing the clips or their prescription glasses. This makes it easy to transition between bright sunlight and shaded conditions, check instruments, or adjust to changing weather while keeping prescription eyewear in place. Sturdy, spring-loaded metal clips feature a protective rubber coating that grips prescription frames securely while helping prevent scratches and unwanted movement. FLT18 polycarbonate lenses provide 18% visible light transmission (VLT), a versatile medium tint for most daylight flying conditions. Developed by M7 Labs in Santa Cruz, California, proprietary notch filtering enhances contrast and helps pilots distinguish details in clouds, terrain, and flight instruments while maintaining balanced, natural colors. The neutral gray viewing tint features a blue flash mirror finish and anti reflective coating to help manage harsh sunlight and distracting reflections. Full UV protection shields eyes from ultraviolet radiation during flight. Unlike polarized sunglasses, FLT18 lenses help preserve visibility of glass cockpit avionics, GPS units, tablets, and electronic instruments without polarization interference or distracting patterns through aircraft windows. The lightweight, shatter resistant polycarbonate lenses are drop ball tested for impact resistance. The frameless aviator design features a 6 base decentered lens curve and weighs 18.8 grams. Dimensions: 45 mm lens height, 12 mm bridge width, and 132 mm overall width. Check these measurements against your prescription glasses to ensure a suitable fit. Includes a microfiber cleaning pouch and protective case for convenient storage in a flight bag or headset case.
