Is the M550 Max worth it over a two-channel dash cam?

If you carry passengers or drive for hire, the cabin camera adds evidence a front-and-rear setup misses. For solo commuting, a two-channel cam costs less and is simpler to install.

How much recording time does the 64GB card give?

Expect roughly 4 to 6 hours of three-channel loop recording at these resolutions, depending on bitrate. The oldest clips are overwritten automatically, so a larger card helps for long trips.

Does parking mode work without hardwiring?

No. The internal battery only saves files in an emergency, so time-lapse and collision-triggered parking recording need a hardwire kit or an external power source.

Can I view and download footage on my phone?

Yes. Built-in Wi-Fi and the AZDOME app let you preview, play back and download clips, and GPS data shows route, location and speed on a map.

Is the rear camera waterproof?

The rear camera is rated IP68, so it can be mounted outside the glass. The front and cabin units stay inside the car.

Dash cams like this usually drop during Prime Day, Black Friday and back-to-school sales. Check the price history before buying outside those windows.

Our take on the AZDOME M550 Max 4K 3 Channel Dash Cam

The AZDOME M550 Max is a three-channel dash cam that records the road in 4K, the rear window in 2.5K and the cabin in 1080p at once. It uses STARVIS sensors, six cabin IR lights and a 3.18-inch IPS screen, and adds built-in Wi-Fi, GPS logging and Bluetooth 5.0. A 64GB card and a magnetic windshield mount are included. It has few ratings so far, and no reliable price history is available to judge its current price against.
