Question 1

Is the desk big enough for a laptop and schoolwork?

Accepted Answer

The desk sits under the loft and fits a laptop, books and a lamp. It is a compact study surface, not a full-size desk, so heavy desktop setups may feel tight.

Question 2

Do I need a box spring?

Accepted Answer

No. The bed ships with slats, so a twin mattress sits directly on them. A standard twin mattress works.

Question 3

How much room does it need?

Accepted Answer

The frame measures 81.9 in wide and 77.4 in long. Add clearance for the ladder and for pulling out the drawers.

Question 4

What is the weight limit?

Accepted Answer

The bed is rated for 400 lb.

Question 5

Is it hard to assemble?

Accepted Answer

It is a multi-part wooden loft with a desk, shelves and drawers, so expect a few hours and two people. Follow the order of the steps and don't tighten bolts until the frame is square.

Question 6

When is it cheapest?

Accepted Answer

The best new price seen is $286.99 at Bellemave as of November 7, 2026. Loft beds often drop during back-to-school and holiday sales, so compare the two stores before buying.
