Is the BILT HARD 30-inch snow blower worth it?

For a long driveway with regular heavy snow, the 30-inch two-stage design and electric start make it a practical choice. For a short driveway or light snowfall, a smaller single-stage unit costs less and is easier to store.

How does a two-stage blower differ from a single-stage?

A two-stage machine uses an auger to gather snow and a separate impeller to throw it, so it handles deep and plowed-in snow better. Single-stage units rely on rubber paddles and work best on light snow.

Does it have electric start?

Yes. It has an electric start in addition to the gas engine, which means you can start it without pulling a cord.

How wide a path does it clear?

It clears a 30-inch path per pass, which is wider than most compact two-stage models.

What engine does it use?

It uses a 301cc gas engine. That is enough power for a 30-inch two-stage unit in heavy snow.

When is the best time to buy a snow blower?

Snow blowers are usually discounted in late winter and early spring, when demand drops. Buying before the first big storm often means paying full price.

Our take on the BILT HARD 30-Inch Gas Snow Blower 301cc

The BILT HARD 30-Inch Gas Snow Blower is a two-stage, gas-powered machine with a 301cc engine and a 30-inch clearing path. It has an electric start, so you don't have to pull a cord in freezing weather. Two-stage design throws snow farther than single-stage units, which suits long driveways and heavy, plowed-in snow. It is a large, heavy machine aimed at homeowners with serious snowfall rather than light dustings.
