Is the Little Green worth it for pet owners?

Yes, for spot cleaning. It lifts fresh pet accidents and odors from carpet and upholstery well, and it costs far less than a full-size extractor. It is not meant for cleaning whole rooms.

How does it compare with a full-size carpet cleaner?

It cleans spots and small areas better than a rented machine you have to haul home, but its 48 oz tanks and 15-foot cord make whole-room cleaning slow. Use it for stains, not for deep-cleaning a whole carpet.

Does it have a battery?

No. It is corded and needs a wall outlet, with a 15-foot cord. There is no battery version of this model.

How big and heavy is it?

It is 17 inches wide, 13.4 inches tall and 11 inches deep, and weighs 9.7 lb empty. It has no wheels, so you carry it by the handle.

What comes in the box?

The cleaner, a brush attachment and a sample bottle of Bissell formula are typically included. Check the listing for the exact contents before buying.

It often drops during holiday sales and back-to-school events. Watch the price history and buy when it dips below its usual range.

Our take on the Bissell Little Green Portable Carpet Cleaner (Model 3689)

The Bissell Little Green (Model 3689) is a corded portable spot cleaner for carpets, upholstery and car interiors. It sprays cleaning solution, scrubs with a brush and sucks the dirty water into a separate 48 oz tank, so you can tackle pet accidents and stains without renting a full-size machine. It weighs 9.7 lb and has no wheels, so you carry it by its handle. It is a spot tool, not a whole-room carpet cleaner.
