Our take on the Bissell PRO MAX Clean + Refresh with Febreze Full Size Carpet Cleaner Machine Formula, 48 oz., 2515A

The Bissell PRO MAX Clean + Refresh 2515A is a 48 oz bottle of carpet-cleaning formula with Febreze Fresh Scent, made for Bissell upright and portable carpet extractors. It is a concentrated solution for carpets and upholstery, and Bissell markets it as low-odor and biodegradable. It is a consumable refill, not a machine, so its value depends on how many tanks you clean per bottle.

Questions and answers

Is this worth it over a generic carpet shampoo?
If you own a Bissell extractor, this is formulated for its dilution ratios and cleans without excessive foam. Generic shampoos can foam too much in extractors and leave residue.
How much do I mix per tank?
Follow the dilution on the bottle and your machine's manual, typically a small capful per gallon of water. Using more than directed can leave sticky residue that attracts dirt.
Does it work on upholstery?
Yes, it is labeled for upholstery as well as carpet. Test a hidden area first, since some fabrics water-spot.
Is the Febreze scent strong?
It is noticeable and lingers for a while after drying. If you are sensitive to fragrance, ventilate the room and consider a fragrance-free Bissell formula.
What is in the box?
One 48 oz bottle of concentrated formula. No measuring cup or machine is included.
When is it cheapest?
Carpet formula tends to drop during spring cleaning sales and when bundled with Bissell machines. Watch for multi-pack pricing per ounce.
