Is the Black+Decker 18" stand fan worth it?

If you want a cheap oscillating floor fan with a remote, yes. Expect basic plastic build and noticeable noise at the top speed.

Owners report it is quiet enough on low but loud on the highest of its three speeds.

Does the remote control oscillation too?

Yes. The remote handles power, the three speeds and oscillation, so you can change settings from across the room.

The height is adjustable, so it can sit lower for seated cooling or raised for a room. Check the listed height range before buying.

Fan prices usually drop in late summer and fall. At $35.99 at Target as of November 6, 2026, it is already near the low end of its range.
