Is the Black+Decker Family-Size Electric Griddle worth it?

For the price, yes, if you cook for a family and want one large surface for pancakes, eggs or burgers. It is a basic griddle, so do not expect restaurant-grade build quality.

How many people does it cook for?

The 10"x20" plate is rated for about 8 servings, which suits a family breakfast or a small gathering. Large batches may still need two rounds.

Can I put the griddle in the sink to wash it?

Yes, the base is fully immersible once the thermostat probe is removed. Never submerge the probe or the cord.

What temperature range does it have?

The adjustable thermostat runs from 150 to 400°F. A ready light shows when the plate has reached the set temperature.

Does it come with a lid?

No, it has no hinged top. It is an open griddle, so covered cooking and melting are not possible.

When is the best time to buy it?

Griddles like this often drop around Black Friday and holiday sales. The $36.00 price at mercari.com as of November 4, 2026 is already near the low end of its recent range.
