Is this a true surround system?

No. It is a single soundbar with a wireless subwoofer, listed as a 1.0-channel configuration. It simulates surround from the bar rather than using rear or height speakers.

Do I need to run a cable to the subwoofer?

No. The Acoustimass module is wireless and only needs a power outlet. The soundbar connects to the TV by HDMI.

Can I stream music to it?

Yes. It supports Bluetooth and Wi-Fi, so you can play from a phone or tablet as well as from the TV.

Can I wall-mount the soundbar?

Yes, with the Bose WB-120 wall mount kit, which is not included. Out of the box it is designed to sit on a tabletop.

Our take on the Bose Home Theatre System

A Bose soundbar-and-subwoofer set with a wireless Acoustimass bass module, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi streaming, and room-calibrating sound. It is a 1.0-channel setup that simulates surround rather than using rear speakers. At $399 at Amazon as of November 4, 2026, it is the only new price listed, so there is no recent range to compare it against.
