Is the Breville Fast Slow Pro worth it over an Instant Pot?

If you sear, reduce and slow cook often, the extra functions and ceramic pot justify the higher price. For basic pressure cooking only, a cheaper Instant Pot does the job.

What is the capacity?

It holds 6 quarts, enough for a whole chicken or stew for four to six people.

Can you brown meat in it before pressure cooking?

Yes. Sauté and sear modes heat the pot directly, so you can brown in the same bowl.

Is the inner pot dishwasher safe?

The ceramic nonstick pot is listed as dishwasher safe, though hand washing helps the coating last.

Does it release pressure automatically?

Yes, it has an automatic pressure release, which cuts down on manual venting.

Our take on the Breville Fast Slow Pro Cooker

The Breville Fast Slow Pro is a 6-quart electric multi cooker that combines pressure cooking and slow cooking in one pot, with a ceramic nonstick bowl and 11 programs. Its standout feature is automatic pressure release and a built-in sear and reduce mode, which few rivals at this size offer. At $329.95 at Amazon as of November 7, 2026, it sits at the top of its recent range; it is a premium pick rather than a budget one.
