Is the Sympatico carry-on worth the price?

If you fly often and want one bag covered by a lifetime repair guarantee, the cost spreads out over years of trips. Casual travelers can get similar capacity for far less, but without the guarantee or the CX compression system.

Does it fit in overhead bins on US airlines?

The 22-inch carry-on is sized for most major US carrier overhead bins. Check your airline's limit before flying, and note that the expanded depth may exceed some limits, so pack it compressed for boarding.

How does the CX expansion work?

A zipper releases an extra 2.5 inches of depth, and a second zipper compresses the bag back to its original size. That lets you pack flat for the outbound trip and expand for the return.

What does the Simple As That guarantee cover?

It covers repair of functional damage, including damage caused by airlines, for the life of the bag. You register the bag and ship it to Briggs & Riley for repair rather than paying for a replacement.

The carry-on comes with its built-in TSA lock and interior compression panels; a dust bag and luggage tag are not always included, so confirm with the listing. Packing cubes are sold separately.

Briggs & Riley sets minimum advertised prices, so discounts are rare and usually appear as store-specific sales or bundled promotions. Watch price history around holiday sales rather than expecting deep markdowns.

Our take on the Briggs & Riley Sympatico Domestic Carry-On Expandable Spinner

The Sympatico Domestic Carry-On Expandable Spinner is Briggs & Riley's hardshell carry-on, built from polycarbonate and Makrolon with a CX expansion system that adds 2.5 inches of packing space and compresses back down. It has four double spinner wheels, a TSA-friendly built-in lock, and the brand's Simple As That lifetime repair guarantee, which covers airline damage. The 22-inch carry-on size fits most major US airline overhead bins. Pricing sits in the premium range for hardshell carry-ons, well above entry-level polycarbonate bags but below aluminum cases.
