Is the TN450 worth it over a cheaper compatible cartridge?

For most people, yes. Genuine Brother toner avoids chip errors and print quality surprises, and at $17.99 it costs little more than many clones.

How is it different from the TN420?

The TN450 is the high-yield version, rated about 2,600 pages versus about 1,200 for the TN420. It fits the same printers.

Which printers does it fit?

It is listed for the HL-2270DW and MFC-7360N. Check your model against Brother's toner list before buying, since newer printers use different cartridges.

How many pages will it really print?

Brother rates it at 2,600 pages at about 5% page coverage. Heavy graphics or dense text will use toner faster.

Genuine toner discounts are sporadic. The current $17.99 at 1ink.com as of November 3, 2026 is already low for OEM stock, so waiting rarely saves much.

Our take on the Brother TN450 High Yield Toner

The Brother TN450 is a genuine black toner cartridge rated for about 2,600 pages, made for Brother's small mono laser printers and all-in-ones such as the HL-2270DW and MFC-7360N. It is the high-yield step up from the standard TN420, so it prints roughly twice as many pages per cartridge. The best new price is $17.99 at 1ink.com as of November 3, 2026, well below what genuine Brother toner usually costs, so it is cheap for an OEM cartridge.
