Is $1,623.20 a fair price for this carafe?

No. That is the only new price listed, at eBay as of November 5, 2026, and it is far above what a single Bunn thermal carafe normally sells for. Check whether the listing is a 12-piece case, since the product is packed 12 per case.

Does it work with any Bunn brewer?

The brew-through lid is made for Bunn brewers that brew directly into a carafe or airpot. Check your brewer's model for carafe compatibility before buying.

How long does it keep coffee hot?

Bunn rates it to keep beverages hot for hours thanks to the vacuum insulation. Preheating the carafe with hot water first stretches that further.

How many cups does it hold?

About 12 cups, or 1.8 liters (62 oz) of beverage in a 1.9-liter body. That suits a busy serving station but is heavy to carry when full.

What comes in the box?

One carafe with a brew-through lid and two cleaning brushes. It is sold as a 12-piece case, so confirm the quantity before ordering.

Why does it have an orange handle?

The orange handle marks the carafe for decaffeinated coffee so staff and guests can tell it apart from regular pots.

Our take on the Bunn 36252.0000 Deluxe Thermal Carafe

The Bunn 36252.0000 Deluxe Thermal Carafe is a commercial-grade stainless steel vacuum carafe that holds 1.9 liters (about 12 cups) and keeps coffee hot for hours without a burner. Its brew-through lid lets you brew straight into the carafe on compatible Bunn brewers, and the orange handle marks it for decaf so servers don't mix pots. The only new price listed is $1,623.20 at eBay as of November 5, 2026, which is far above what a single carafe normally costs, so check whether that listing is a full case before buying.

What reviewers say

Owners of Bunn thermal carafes generally report strong heat retention and durable stainless bodies, with the brew-through lid and gaskets as the usual weak points over time. Reception of this specific orange-handle decaf model is thin, so most feedback comes from cafe and office users of the same carafe line.

Pros

Coffee stays hot for hours without a burner
Sturdy stainless steel that survives daily cafe use
Brew-through lid saves a step in service
Orange handle prevents decaf mix-ups

Cons

Lid seals and gaskets wear and start to leak
Heavy when full
Hard to clean thoroughly around the lid
