Cons
  • Assembly required; screwdriver and hammer not included

Questions and answers

Is the Bush Saratoga bookcase worth it?
It is a reasonable pick if you want a tall, open bookcase in a woodgrain finish and do not mind assembling it. Buyers wanting solid wood or closed storage should look elsewhere.
How much weight does each shelf hold?
Bush rates the Saratoga shelves for everyday book and decor loads, but the exact per-shelf limit is not listed here. Distribute heavy items on the lower shelves and anchor the unit to the wall.
Do I need to anchor it to the wall?
Yes. At 72 inches tall and 70.3 lbs, it should be anchored, and the design assumes wall anchoring. Use the included hardware and a stud or suitable wall anchor.
What tools do I need to assemble it?
A screwdriver and a hammer, neither included. Set aside an hour or two and have a second person help lift the panels.
Are the shelves adjustable?
Three of the five shelves adjust, so you can fit tall books or display pieces. The remaining shelves are fixed.
When is the best time to buy it?
Bookcases like this often drop during back-to-school and Black Friday sales. Check the price history on this page and compare stores before buying.
