Our take on the Callaway Elyte X Irons

The Elyte X is Callaway's game-improvement iron for 2025, built for higher launch, more forgiveness and a bit more distance than the standard Elyte. It uses a hollow-body construction with a forged face and AI-designed face pattern, and it comes in right- and left-handed sets. At $708.98 at PGA TOUR Superstore as of November 5, 2026, it sits at the low end of its recent range, so this is a strong time to buy.

Best forMid- to high-handicap golfersPlayers who want more launch and distanceGolfers who miss toward the toe or heelShoppers replacing irons from five or more years ago
Pros
  • Hollow-body head with a forged face gives fast ball speed
  • Wide sole and low center of gravity help get the ball airborne
  • Strong forgiveness on off-center hits
  • Stock shaft options suit slower to moderate swing speeds
  • Available in right- and left-handed sets
Cons
  • Thick top line and larger profile look bulky at address
  • Lofts are strong, so gapping at the long end needs checking
  • Less workability than a players iron
  • Stock shaft may be too light for fast swingers

Questions and answers

Is the Elyte X worth it over the standard Elyte?
The X is the more forgiving, higher-launching head with a wider sole. Choose it if you want help with consistency; the standard Elyte suits better ball strikers who want a slimmer look.
Is $708.98 a good price for these irons?
Yes. That is the best new price across the three stores listing it as of November 5, 2026, and it sits at the low end of the set's recent range.
What shafts and grips come with the set?
Sets ship with Callaway's stock steel or graphite shafts and standard grips. Check the listing for the exact shaft flex and set makeup before ordering.
Are left-handed sets available?
Yes, the Elyte X comes in both right- and left-handed sets, though left-handed stock and pricing can differ by store.
How many clubs are in a standard set?
Most Elyte X sets run from 5-iron through pitching wedge, with some configurations adding a gap wedge or approach wedge. Confirm the makeup in the listing.
When is the best time to buy?
Prices on game-improvement irons tend to drop when the next line launches. With the current price already near the low end of its range, waiting offers limited upside.
Where is the Callaway Elyte X Irons cheapest?
At PGA TOUR Superstore, for $708.98, 25% under what the other stores charge, as of our latest check.
Where can I buy the Callaway Elyte X Irons?
3 stores we checked sell it, including PGA TOUR Superstore, DICK'S Sporting Goods, eBay.
