Our take on the Casper Select 12" Memory Foam Mattress

The Casper Select 12" is a memory foam mattress in a box, sold here in a queen (60 x 80 in) with a 12-inch profile and a medium-firm feel. It uses four layers of CertiPUR-US certified foam, including a pressure-relieving memory foam layer, plus a zoned support base and a cool-to-the-touch knit cover that zips off for washing. It is Casper's step-down model below the Original, aimed at shoppers who want the brand's foam feel for less. Its only recorded price is $799.89 at CitywideShop.com as of October 30, 2026, so there is no range to compare against yet.

Pros

  • Zoned support adds firmer foam under the midsection
  • Cool-to-the-touch knit cover zips off and washes
  • CertiPUR-US certified foams with no ozone-depleting chemicals
  • Ships compressed in a box that fits through most doorways
Cons
  • All-foam build lacks the bounce and edge support of hybrids
  • No coil layer, so heavier sleepers may sink more at the edges
  • Memory foam can sleep warmer than latex or innerspring
  • Only one firmness level and one 12-inch profile
  • Mattress only: no foundation or box spring included

Questions and answers

Is the Casper Select 12" worth it?
At $799.89 for a queen at CitywideShop.com as of October 30, 2026, it is a reasonable price for a brand-name foam mattress with zoned support and a washable cover. If you want coils or stronger edge support, a hybrid is the better spend.
How firm is the Casper Select?
It is medium firm: soft enough to cushion shoulders and hips, firm enough to keep the spine aligned. Heavy sleepers may find it softer than expected over time.
Does it sleep hot?
The open-cell foam and cool-to-the-touch knit cover help, but it is still an all-foam bed. Hot sleepers should pair it with breathable sheets and a cool room.
What size and thickness is this mattress?
This listing is a queen, 60 inches wide by 80 inches long, with a 12-inch profile. It fits standard queen frames and sheets.
What comes in the box?
The mattress only, compressed and rolled. You need your own foundation, box spring or adjustable base.
When is the best time to buy?
The only recorded price is $799.89 as of October 30, 2026, so there is no history to time a drop against. Watch for holiday sales, when Casper and its retailers typically discount.
Is the Casper Select 12" Memory Foam Mattress at its lowest price?
The lowest price we've seen is $799.89 at CitywideShop.com on October 30.
