Is the Caledonia-5 worth $7,999.95?

If you want one fast, comfortable bike with top-tier wireless shifting, yes. The price buys a light carbon frame and SRAM Red AXS; riders on a budget can get most of the comfort from cheaper Caledonia builds.

How does it differ from the standard Caledonia?

The Caledonia-5 uses a lighter, stiffer carbon frame and higher-end components. The standard Caledonia is heavier and cheaper but keeps the same endurance geometry and wide tire clearance.

What tires and clearance does it have?

It ships with 36 mm (1.42 inch) tires. The frame accepts even wider rubber, which is why riders use it on gravel and rough pavement.

Do the SRAM Red AXS batteries need charging?

Yes. Each derailleur has a removable battery that typically lasts several weeks of riding. Carry a spare or charge both before long events.

What is included with the bike?

You get the complete bike as built, with SRAM Red AXS groupset, carbon frame and the listed tires. Pedals, bottles and cages are usually not included.

End-of-season sales and prior-model clearances are the usual windows for discounts. As of November 7, 2026, only one store lists it new at $7,999.95, so there is no lower new price to compare.
