Questions and answers

Is 2,500 watts enough for an RV air conditioner?
A small 13,500 BTU RV AC can draw around 2,800 to 3,500 starting watts, which exceeds this unit's 2,500 peak. It will run lights, a fridge, a TV and a charger, but not most RV ACs without a soft-start kit or a second parallel unit.
How long does it run on a tank of gas?
At full load it burns about 0.37 gallons per hour, so the 1.1-gallon tank lasts roughly 3 hours. At quarter load, expect closer to 10 to 12 hours.
Does it work with propane out of the box?
Yes, it includes a propane hose and regulator for a standard 20 lb tank. Propane reduces output, so plan on lower running watts than on gasoline.
Can I connect it to my home panel?
Only through a transfer switch and a licensed electrician, and 1,850 running watts covers a few circuits at most. It is not a whole-home generator.
Is it safe to run near a tent?
CO Shield shuts the unit off when carbon monoxide rises, but generators should still run outdoors, well away from windows, doors and tents.
When is the price lowest?
Generator prices tend to dip in late winter and early spring before storm season. The current $749.99 at Camping World as of November 4, 2026 is the only new price found, so watch for seasonal markdowns.
Where is the Champion Power Equipment Champion 2500-Watt Dual Fuel Inverter Generator cheapest?
At Camping World, for $749.99, as of our latest check.
