Questions and answers

Is the 7-quart size too big for two people?
It is large for two, but it works well for batch cooking and freezing portions. Smaller 3- to 4-quart cookers fit couples better.
Does it switch to keep-warm automatically?
Yes. The programmable timer ends cooking and holds the food at a warm setting until you turn it off.
Can the stoneware go in the oven or dishwasher?
The removable crock is designed for serving and cleaning, but check the manual before oven or dishwasher use, since not all slow cooker inserts are rated for both.
Is the lid really leak-proof for travel?
The locking lid secures the lid for carrying, but it is not a sealed container. Keep it upright and avoid tipping it.
When is the best price on this cooker?
It was $47.99 at Kohl's as of November 5, 2026, with two stores listing it new. Slow cookers often drop around Black Friday and holiday sales.
How does it compare with a basic manual slow cooker?
You pay a little more for the timer, keep-warm and locking lid. A manual dial cooker is cheaper but needs you to watch the time.
Where is the Chefman 7-Qt. Programmable Slow Cooker with Locking Lid cheapest?
At Kohl's, for $47.99, as of our latest check.
What do buyers say about the Chefman 7-Qt. Programmable Slow Cooker with Locking Lid?
