Is $399 a good price for this king mattress?

It is a low price for a king-size foam mattress, and 9 stores list it new. Budget foam kings rarely drop much below this, so $399 at Walmart as of November 7, 2026 is a fair buy.

Is the Chime 8 Inch good for side sleepers?

It depends on weight. Lighter side sleepers usually find enough cushioning, but heavier sleepers may want a thicker mattress for pressure relief.

Does it need a box spring?

No. It works on a platform bed or a slatted frame. A box spring adds height but is not required.

It is generally described as medium-firm. Buyers who expect a soft, sinking memory foam feel often find it firmer than expected.

What size sheets fit it?

Standard king sheets fit the 79-inch length. Deep-pocket sheets are not needed given the 8-inch profile.

Is it good for a guest room?

Yes. It is a common pick for guest and spare rooms, where a low-cost king that occasional sleepers use makes sense.
