Does the bed need a box spring?

Yes. The Kendall bed requires a box spring or other foundation under the mattress. Plan for that cost and height.

What mattress size fits this bed?

It takes a California king mattress, 72 by 84 inches. A standard king mattress will not fit.

Is assembly required?

Yes. The bed and case pieces ship unassembled and need to be put together. A two-person build is sensible for the bed.

What is the bed's weight limit?

The bed is rated for a maximum load of 600 lb.

Is the velvet easy to clean?

Velvet needs gentle care: vacuum with a soft brush and blot spills rather than scrub. It can show lint and dust, so keep a lint roller handy.

Our take on the Coaster Kendall 5-Piece California King Bedroom Set

The Coaster Kendall is a five-piece California king bedroom set in black velvet over rubberwood: a panel bed, a double dresser, a dresser mirror and a nightstand with drawers. The upholstered headboard and solid black finish give it a modern look, and the bed is rated for 600 lb. It is a box-spring bed, so you need a foundation under the mattress, and assembly is required. No current price was provided for this set, so check the latest store prices before buying.
