Colonial candle stands had it figured out centuries ago: a weighted cone base, a scrolled arm to hold the light, and a metal shade that sends the glow right where you need it. We fell for that silhouette and gave it a cord.
Tole style, iron built
It's made of iron with an antique bronze finish that reads warm and a little timeworn, so you get the look of early tole work without the fuss of a real candle. At just 11" tall on a 6" x 3.75" footprint, it slips onto a nightstand, bookshelf, or kitchen counter where a full-size lamp would crowd everything out.
The steal
Lamps in this style regularly sell for around $126. We got ours to $24.99 , and we're still a little smug about it. At that price, one for the bedside and another for that dark corner is the obvious move!
