Is the Columbia 14 Function Multi-Tool worth it?

It is a reasonable pick if you want a sturdy steel multi-tool for camping and light repairs. Its 4.6 out of 5 rating from 24 ratings is positive but based on few reviews.

How heavy is it to carry?

It weighs 1 kg, which is heavy for a pocket tool. Plan on a belt pouch, backpack or glovebox rather than a pants pocket.

Does it have a plain blade or only serrated?

The listed blade is serrated only. That suits rope, cord and straps but not clean slicing or whittling.

What tools are included?

The 14 functions include a serrated blade, wire cutter, bottle opener, can opener, file and screwdriving bits. Scissors and a saw are not listed.

Is it good for camping?

Yes, camping is its stated top use. The can opener, bottle opener, blade and screwdrivers cover most camp tasks, though the weight matters if you hike far.

Multi-tools usually drop around fall camping sales and holiday promotions. Check the price history on this page to see whether the current price is near its low.
