Is 7.0 cu. ft. big enough for a family?

It fits about 245 liters of food, roughly a week of frozen groceries for four people or a quarter of a beef. Families that buy in bulk often want 10 cu. ft. or more.

How often do I have to defrost it?

It is manual defrost, so expect to empty it and melt ice once or twice a year, more often in humid garages. Defrost when frost reaches about a quarter inch.

Can it go in a garage or unheated space?

Commercial Cool lists it for residential use and does not publish a garage-ready rating. In very cold rooms a standard freezer can struggle to hold temperature, so check the manual before placing it outside.

Does it come with baskets?

No. The listing shows zero shelves and zero bins, so plan to buy hanging baskets separately if you want to organize small items.

What temperature should I set it to?

Set the dial so the interior holds 0 °F or below; the stated range tops out at 10.4 °F. Use a separate thermometer, since there is no display.
