Our take on the Contixo STEM Building Toys 110pcs Glow-in-the-Dark Marble Magnetic Light-Up Blocks Set

The Contixo STEM Building Toys set is a 110-piece magnetic block kit with translucent tiles and a light-up marble run, so kids can build towers and tracks that glow in the dark. It targets engineering-style play for roughly ages 6 and up, with magnets holding the pieces together and no batteries required. It is a budget-priced import-style set rather than a premium magnetic-tile brand, so expect lighter magnets and looser tolerances than Magna-Tiles or Connetix. The set includes a small ball, so it carries a choking-hazard warning and is not for children under 3.

Best forKids around 6–10 who like building and marble runsParents adding to an existing magnetic-tile collectionGift buyers who want a light-up building set under a premium-brand priceScreen-free rainy-day and after-school play
Pros
  • 110 pieces give enough parts for real structures, not just a small starter set
  • Glow-in-the-dark tiles and a light-up marble run add play value plain tiles lack
  • Magnets mean fast setup and easy rebuilds without instructions
  • No batteries needed for the blocks themselves
  • Works alongside most standard magnetic tile brands
Cons
  • Contains a small ball, so it is a choking hazard for kids under 3
  • Budget magnets are weaker than premium tile brands and can slip on tall builds
  • Glow effect needs charging under a bright light first and fades quickly
  • Light-up marble parts are the usual failure point on budget sets
  • Small pieces are easy to lose

Questions and answers

Is this set worth it compared with Magna-Tiles?
It costs far less and adds a glow effect and marble run, but the magnets are weaker and the plastic is thinner. It is a good budget add-on; it is not a replacement for a premium tile set.
What age is it for?
It suits roughly ages 6 and up, when kids have the fine motor control for small magnets and balls. The small ball makes it unsafe for children under 3.
Does it need batteries?
No. The blocks and marble run use no batteries; the glow comes from charging the tiles under light.
How does the glow-in-the-dark part work?
The translucent tiles absorb light and glow for a while in the dark. Charge them under a lamp or sunlight for the brightest effect, and expect the glow to fade within minutes.
Will it work with other magnetic tile brands?
Usually yes, since most magnetic tiles share a similar size and magnet layout. Budget sets vary slightly, so mixing brands can make some connections looser.
What is in the box?
The 110 pieces include magnetic tiles, connecting parts and the marble-run components. The listing does not break down exact counts per piece type.
