- Is $71.19 a good price for this heater?
- Yes. At $71.19 at Walmart as of November 8, 2026, it is at the low end of what the six stores listing it new charge. Oil-filled 1500W heaters commonly sell for $70 to $120.
- How much does it cost to run?
- At full 1500W it uses 1.5 kWh per hour. At a US average of about 17 cents per kWh, that is roughly 25 cents an hour while the element is on; the thermostat cycles it off once the room reaches temperature.
- Does it need a special outlet?
- No. It runs on a standard 120V household outlet, but at 1500W it draws about 12.5 amps, so use a dedicated circuit and avoid sharing it with other high-draw appliances.
- How large a room will it heat?
- Costway does not publish a square-foot rating. A 1500W oil-filled unit of this size typically keeps a bedroom or small living room comfortable, but it will struggle in large open spaces.
- Does it make noise?
- There is no fan, so operation is essentially silent apart from occasional ticking as the metal and oil expand and contract.
- What safety features does it have?
- It has overheat protection, a tip-over switch, and automatic shut-off, so it cuts power if it gets too hot or is knocked over.
