Is the 29-inch height right for my counter?

A 29-inch seat suits a standard 42-inch bar top. For a 36-inch kitchen counter, choose the 24-inch version.

Will my stool look like the photo?

No two are alike. The photo is a sample; your hide will differ in color and pattern, and may show natural scars or marks. You can ask the seller for a photo of your actual hide before it ships.

Does it come assembled?

No. The imported base requires assembly; the cowhide-covered seat cushion is already attached.

Is the seat comfortable without a back?

The saddle shape supports short sits at a bar or island. With no back or arms, it is less suited to long lounging.

Can I match a counter and a bar in the same style?

Yes. Order the 24-inch for the counter and the 29-inch for the bar, and you can pick different hide colors for contrast.

Our take on the Cowhide saddle chair

A backless saddle stool with a dark cherry brown wood base and a seat wrapped in authentic hair-on-hide cowhide, hand-stapled to the cushion. It comes in 24-inch counter and 29-inch bar heights, and each hide is unique, so color and pattern vary from the sample photo. The 29-inch version is $229.95 at Amazon as of November 7, 2026, the best of two new-store prices.

About the Cowhide saddle chair

Enjoy this dark cherry brown finish wood bar stool customized with your choice of an authentic, hair-on-hide, cowhide seat. This stool is available in both 24" or 29" tall .

This is a custom, made to order, product using authentic cowhide. Therefore, the product photo shown in this listing is a sample picture of the hide color and pattern you will receive on your stool. We work very hard to choose a hide that will resemble the image provided!

Also, since we use authentic cowhide, each piece will be unique, including the possibility of natural little scars, marks, and hair growth patterns. However, we take great pride in every piece we create, which starts with using great quality hides.

If you would like a photo of the actual hide that will be used for your order, please contact us and we will be happy to provide it to you.

All our specialty items are individually hand crafted using authentic cowhide. We cut the hide, position it for the appropriate pattern and begin assembling. We take each stool cushion and attach the cowhide cover by stapling it by hand.

The bar stool base is imported and requires assembly.

The flexibility to order the same stool in the different heights allows you the option of furnishing your entire kitchen, man cave, or game room with a matching style stool for a table and/or bar/kitchen island. You also have the added benefit of being able to order multiple cowhide colors for that added "pop" in your design.
