Our take on the Cozydesg Area Rug for Living Room Soft Fluffy Shaggy Rug

The Cozydesg Area Rug is an 8' x 10' rectangular shag rug in a black-and-white geometric pattern, made for indoor living rooms. It has a non-slip backing and is listed as machine washable, which is unusual for a rug this fluffy. It is a budget-priced decorative piece rather than a durable floor covering.

Questions and answers

Is this rug actually machine washable?
It is listed as washable, but an 8' x 10' shag rug will not fit most home washers. Plan on spot cleaning or a commercial laundromat machine.
Will it shed?
Expect some shedding at first, which is normal for inexpensive shag. Vacuum gently without a beater bar and it should settle down.
Does it work on hardwood floors?
Yes. The non-slip backing is meant to keep it in place on hard floors, though a pad adds cushioning and grip.
Is 8' x 10' big enough for a living room?
It fits a standard sofa-and-coffee-table setup with the front legs of the sofa on the rug. Measure your room before ordering.
How do I clean it?
Shake it out, vacuum gently, and spot clean spills with mild soap and water. Avoid a strong beater bar, which pulls at shag fibers.
When is the best time to buy?
Rugs like this see the deepest discounts during Black Friday, back-to-school and end-of-season home sales. Check the price history before buying.
