Our take on the CRAFTSMAN V20 Pole Saw, Cordless, 14-Foot, 4.0Ah, Battery and Charger Included (CMCCSP20M1)

The CRAFTSMAN V20 Pole Saw (CMCCSP20M1) is a cordless pole saw with an 8-inch bar that reaches up to 14 feet and cuts branches up to 6 inches thick. It runs on a 20V 4.0Ah battery rated for up to 325 cuts per charge and weighs about 12 pounds. A battery and charger are included, so it works out of the box. It suits light trimming and limbing rather than heavy tree work.

Questions and answers

Is the CRAFTSMAN V20 pole saw worth it?
For occasional trimming of branches up to 6 inches, yes. It reaches 14 feet and includes a 4.0Ah battery and charger. For frequent heavy cutting, a gas or brushless pole saw is a better fit.
How long does the battery last?
CRAFTSMAN rates it at up to 325 cuts per charge. Real runtime depends on branch thickness and wood type; thick or green limbs cut that number down.
What is the maximum reach and cut size?
It reaches up to 14 feet and cuts branches up to 6 inches in diameter with its 8-inch bar.
Does it come with a battery and charger?
Yes. The CMCCSP20M1 kit includes a 20V 4.0Ah battery and a charger.
Does it use the same batteries as other CRAFTSMAN V20 tools?
Yes. It runs on the CRAFTSMAN V20 battery platform, so batteries are shared with other V20 tools.
When is it cheapest?
Pole saws usually drop in price in fall and around spring yard-care sales. Check the price history before buying.
