Our take on the Dakota Fields Danna Tucson Performance Machine Washable Oriental Rug

The Dakota Fields Danna Tucson is a machine-washable synthetic rug with an Oriental pattern, sold in rectangular sizes from 4 ft up to 10 ft and in rust/navy, light blue/blue and navy/red colorways. Its main draw is easy care: it can go in a home washing machine, which is rare for a patterned Oriental-style rug. It is a budget-friendly pick rather than a hand-knotted wool rug, and it suits high-traffic rooms, rentals and homes with pets or kids.

Best forHouseholds with pets, kids or heavy foot trafficRenters who want a patterned rug without long-term commitmentDining rooms, entryways and other spill-prone spacesBuyers who want an Oriental look at a low price
Pros
  • Machine washable, so spills and pet accidents are less of a problem
  • Synthetic pile resists staining and wears well in busy rooms
  • Oriental pattern hides dirt and crumbs between washes
  • Available in several sizes and three colorways
  • Low price for the size compared with wool Oriental rugs
Cons
  • Synthetic pile feels less plush than wool and can flatten in traffic lanes
  • Thin profile needs a rug pad to stay put on hard floors
  • Washing a large size may not fit a standard home machine
  • Colors can look different in person than on screen
  • Pattern may be printed rather than woven, so detail is softer up close

Questions and answers

Is it worth buying over a wool Oriental rug?
If you need something washable and cheap for a busy room, yes. A wool rug will feel softer and last longer, but it costs much more and cannot go in a washing machine.
Can I really machine wash it?
Yes, it is labeled machine washable. Check your machine's drum size first: a 4 ft or 6 ft size is realistic at home, while 8 ft and 10 ft sizes usually need a commercial laundromat machine.
Does it need a rug pad?
It is thin, so a pad helps on hard floors. A pad adds cushioning and stops the rug from sliding or bunching.
Which sizes and colors are available?
It comes in rectangular sizes of 4 ft, 6 ft, 8 ft and 10 ft, in rust/navy, light blue/blue and navy/red.
Will the colors match the photos?
Owners report some variation between the listing photos and the rug in person. Order the smallest size first if color match matters to you.
When is the best time to buy?
Rug prices tend to dip during seasonal sales and around major holiday events. Check the price history before buying so you know whether the current price is high or low for this rug.
