Our take on the Daybetter Solar Outdoor String Lights, 100ft Solar Powered Lights with 50 ST38 Shatterproof Bulbs, Waterproof

The Daybetter Solar Outdoor String Lights are a 100 ft strand of 50 white LED ST38 bulbs, spaced about 23.6 inches apart and powered by a solar panel, so no outlet is needed. The bulbs are shatterproof plastic and the set is rated for outdoor use, with a constant (non-flashing) white glow. At $42.99 at Walmart as of November 6, 2026, it is the only new price listed, so there is no recent range to compare against.

Pros
  • 100 ft lighted length covers a long fence or several trees from one strand
  • Solar powered, so no outlet or wiring is needed
  • Shatterproof plastic bulbs hold up better outdoors than glass
  • 50 bulbs at roughly 2 ft spacing give an even, full look
  • Constant white light suits year-round use, not just holidays
Cons
  • No NRTL listing shown, so electrical safety certification is unconfirmed
  • Solar panel needs direct sun; output drops on shaded patios or in winter
  • Constant-only light with no dimming or flashing modes
  • Not smart, so no app or timer control
  • Only one store price listed, so there is little to compare against

Questions and answers

How long is the run and how far apart are the bulbs?
The lighted length is 100 ft with 50 bulbs spaced about 23.6 inches apart, so plan on roughly 2 ft per bulb.

How long do they stay lit at night?
Runtime depends on how much sun the panel gets. Expect shorter runtimes after cloudy days or in winter.
Can I connect more than one strand?
The listing does not state end-to-end connectivity, so treat each 100 ft strand as a standalone set unless the packaging says otherwise.
Are the bulbs glass?
No, they are shatterproof plastic, which is safer around walkways and lawns.
