Our take on the Dell Latitude 7390 13.3" Workstation Laptop

The Latitude 7390 is Dell's 13.3-inch business ultrabook from 2018, sold here as a refurbished unit with Windows 11. This configuration pairs an Intel Core i5-7300U with 16 GB of RAM and a 256 GB NVMe SSD, a step up in memory over the base model but an older 7th-gen chip than the 8th-gen versions Dell also shipped. It is a solid, light office machine for documents, browsing and video calls, not for heavy creative work. The listing notes light scratches and a 3-month warranty, so condition and coverage matter as much as price.

Questions and answers

Is the Core i5-7300U fast enough for everyday use?
Yes for web browsing, email, documents and video calls. It is a dual-core 7th-gen chip, so it struggles with heavy multitasking, photo editing or gaming.
How does this compare with the 8th-gen Latitude 7390?
Dell also sold the 7390 with 8th-gen quad-core chips like the i5-8650U and i7-8650U, which are noticeably faster. This listing's i5-7300U is the older, slower option, so check which chip you are buying.
Can the RAM and storage be upgraded?
The SSD is replaceable, and the Latitude 7390 has soldered RAM on most configurations, so 16 GB is likely the ceiling. Confirm with the seller before buying if you need more.
What is in the box?
The laptop and a charger. The listing says software is installed fresh on a blank drive and the unit is tested, with a 3-month warranty.
Is a refurbished Latitude 7390 a good buy?
It suits budget office work if the price is low and you accept the 3-month warranty and possible scratches. Compare against newer 8th-gen units before deciding.
What do buyers say about the Dell Latitude 7390 13.3" Workstation Laptop?
Rated 3.5 out of 5 from 36 ratings.
