Our take on the Deux 1717 Graphite Lite Front Exterior Prehung Frosted Glass Steel Door 36x80

The Deux 1717 Graphite Lite is a prehung exterior steel door, 36x80 nominal, with a frosted glass lite and a graphite-gray exterior over a white interior. It ships right-hand inswing with a steel frame, handle, lock and installation hardware, and it is insulated and water-resistant. It is a single-door modern unit aimed at entryways and side doors. The best new price is $1,783.93 at Wayfair as of November 8, 2026, and only one store lists it new, so there is no recent range to compare against.

Pros
  • Prehung with steel frame and hardware included, so it drops into a rough opening
  • Frosted glass lets in light while blocking a clear view in
  • Insulated steel construction with water resistance for exterior use
  • Right-hand inswing configuration fits standard entry framing
  • Graphite exterior with white interior suits modern facades
Cons
  • Only one store lists it new, so price competition is limited
  • Right-hand inswing only; left-hand and outswing buyers are out of luck
  • Frosted glass gives less light and no view compared with clear glass
  • Steel doors can dent and need repainting over time
  • No listed fire rating or security glass rating

Questions and answers

Is this door worth $1,783.93?
That is the only new price listed, at Wayfair as of November 8, 2026. A prehung insulated steel door with frame and hardware often runs $1,000 to $2,500, so the price is mid-range, but with one seller you have little room to negotiate.
Does it come with the frame and hardware?
Yes. The listing includes the steel frame, all installation hardware, a handle and a lock. You supply the rough opening and any trim or threshold you want to add.
What size opening does a 36x80 prehung door need?
The door slab is about 34.15 inches wide and 79.2 inches high, and the prehung frame adds roughly 1 to 2 inches each way. Plan a rough opening close to 38 by 82 inches and confirm with the seller before ordering.
Can I get it in a left-hand or outswing version?
This model is listed as right-hand inswing only. Check with the seller for other handings or swing directions before you buy.
Is the frosted glass private and energy efficient?
Frosted glass obscures the view while letting light through, and the door is listed as insulated. It is not a rated security or fire door, so treat it as a standard residential entry door.
When is the price lowest?
With a single new listing there is no price history to time a purchase against. Watch for seasonal door sales at the listing store rather than waiting for a drop.
Where is the Deux 1717 Graphite Lite Front Exterior Prehung Frosted Glass Steel Door 36x80 cheapest?
At Wayfair, for $1,783.93, 19% under what the other stores charge, as of our latest check.
What do buyers say about the Deux 1717 Graphite Lite Front Exterior Prehung Frosted Glass Steel Door 36x80?
