Is this drill good for concrete?

Yes. It is a hammer drill with a 10 amp motor, which is the right tool for small holes in concrete and brick. Use masonry bits and let the hammer action do the work.

Does it come with bits?

It is listed as a drill set, so it should include accessories. Check the box contents at the store before buying, since set contents vary.

Corded or cordless for home use?

Corded if you drill masonry at home and have an outlet nearby. Cordless if you need to work in attics, on ladders or outdoors away from power.

Is $149 a good price?

It is the best new price across the two stores that list it as of November 4, 2026, but it is at the high end of its recent range. Waiting for a sale could save money.

What chuck does it use?

A 1/2 inch keyed chuck. You need the chuck key to tighten it, but it holds large bits more securely than a keyless chuck.

Our take on the DeWalt 1/2 in. Corded Hammer Drill

This is a corded DeWalt hammer drill with a 10 amp motor and a 1/2 inch keyed chuck, sold as a drill set. The keyed chuck holds bits firmly and the cord means no battery to charge or replace. At $149 at Lowe's as of November 4, 2026, it sits at the top of its recent price range, so it is not a bargain right now.
