Our take on the DeWalt 20V MAX Cordless Combo Kit and 20V MAX XR Impact Driver with Battery and Charger

This is a DeWalt 20V MAX bundle: a 5-piece cordless combo kit plus a separate 20V MAX XR impact driver, each with a lithium-ion battery and charger. The combo covers the core jobs — drill/driver, impact driver, reciprocating saw, circular saw and work light in the common 20V MAX lineup. The XR impact driver is the higher-torque brushless step up, so you get a spare driver and an extra battery. At $499 at Home Depot as of November 3, 2026, it is the only new price listed, so there is no recent range to compare it against.

Pros
  • Five tools share one 20V MAX battery platform
  • Includes the brushless XR impact driver as a second driver

  • Wide accessory and battery availability for the 20V MAX line
  • Combo kits usually cost less than buying each tool separately
Cons
  • Kit batteries are typically compact, not the larger XR packs
  • Circular and reciprocating saws are entry-level, not pro-grade
  • Only one new price listed, so there is no discount history to judge
  • Two impact drivers may be redundant for some buyers
  • No hard case with most DeWalt combo kits
